music posters 1st edition

i have a habit of buying art posters from concerts and shows that i go to. local artists usually design and sell some great work, but other times i have trouble finding a poster for a particular show... and so i have decided that i will just begin to design my own to fill in the gaps in my collection... the first project was for a sufjan stevens concert this last october...

a {new} favorite

i have discovered a new favorite movie this week

it is called mary & max... and it happens to be done in claymation...

the story is drawn from a true story about a young girl in australia and a man in new york {who has aspergers syndrome}...these two characters become pen pals and the story goes on from there..it's not really a movie for children...but it reminds me of the innocence of youth, the harshness of society, and the things we take for granted in our lives.

i am not really offering a critic of the movie, but i just thought i would share a new found favorite.

p.s. this movie makes me want a pen pal... {there is something so simple and beautiful about a handwritten letter}

dream a {little} dream of me

Christmas time always makes me think of {my favorite things}...and i want to share just a few of those things. {for now}

1. {Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong} together they can do no wrong...One of my very favorite CDs is Ella and Louis duets.

I could listen to this song forever...

2. {white christmas} watching this movie always brings me joy.

{even if i don't always love snow}

3. {wrapping presents} every year i look forward to wrapping christmas gifts... the smell of wrapping paper and tape makes me smile...
